Good morning on this Christmas Vacation, for some of us. Come on in and grab a cup – I have some new Jingle Bones coffee I was just going to brew up. I got it in my first Creepy Crate box! More on that in my next post..
I’m sorry for my absence. It’s been 34 days since my last blog post (yes, that is a confession). I went through a stretch where I just ran out of steam. NaBloPoMo ran me over like a steamroller like it usually does and I raised the white flag on November 20th, but I did meet some new blogger folk this year for that I am glad.
If we were having coffee, I would probably ask you the age-old question, “Are you ready for Christmas?” I’m two days into our min-Christmas break (Saturday through Tuesday) and to me it doesn’t feel like it’s here. The tree is up, the lights have been up, shopping is pretty much done, but there is no snow on the ground and everything has come up so quick that I feel like I just haven’t slowed down to enjoy anything.
We’ve watched Christmas Vacation, Elf, How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the remake, still searching for the original) and tonight I’d like to watch The Christmas Chronicles that everyone has been raving about.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that we’re hosting Christmas Eve with Bill’s folks tomorrow, and smoking a brisket again! Our first one came out great and I can’t wait to share it with my in-laws. During the day I’ll begin construction on more Christmas Cake Batter Truffles – I made them for the cookie exchange at work and they were a hit! If I can get them to not hatch this time.. Some cracked open like eggs! (not pictured) 🙂
More coffee? I’m loving this stuff! I think I’ll have to check out Bones Coffee!

Ready for Christmas? I think so–I bought the last of the gifts today, and made some squares. I hope I have time to make some shortbread, but my son just came home from uni and I can’t wait to spend time with him!
