Happy Autumn equinox to you! The leaves haven’t fallen yet, but they will soon. It’s currently 60 degrees here in SE Michigan, on it’s way up to a balmy 65. Great morning for coffee on the patio or in the dining room with the windows open. I hate to say goodbye to Summer, but there are so many reasons I love Fall. And yes, pumpkin spice is one of them! Haha.
If we were having coffee, I’d welcome you back after being absent last weekend. We were camping again at Maumee Bay State Park in Oregon, OH, and the weekend just slipped away. We enjoyed visiting with our dear friends that we met through camping with our family and it was nice to spend time with them relaxing in the sun and around the fire at night. We rented bikes for the first time at this park and had a great time exploring the network of trails, some which run along Lake Erie.
This work week flew by, of course because we are insanely busy. Fourth quarter always ramps up and for me, due to my projects, the madness started after I returned from vacation in mid-August. So much to do, at work and at home. This morning I wrote my weekend to do list, as I do pretty much every Saturday morning. It’s a list of everything I want to accomplish over the weekend, knowing that I may not get it all done. Crossing things off the list is satisfying though, and when I brainstorm everything I want to get done and write it on the list, it’s at least not forgotten. Today I actually went full dork and numbered the list. 10! Now my goal is to check off at least 5 things today. Halfway to goal. Yes, this is how my brain works.
If we were having coffee, I’d also tell you that I have a 30% off Kohl’s coupon that is burning a hole in my purse. Woohoo! Time to update the work wardrobe, as it’s been a while. And I love shopping for fall clothes. I’ll also take this time to go through my closet and hopefully fill up a few bags for Goodwill. One of my fall/winter projects is to work on downsizing. There are lots of articles online that explore this idea, something I really need to embrace and practice.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m quite bummed about the end of my Nocturnal Reader’s Box subscription. I don’t know what to believe and I don’t want to speculate, but if you Google the subject, you’ll find several articles. I just know that it’s very likely I won’t get my July or August box at all. Pretty disappointing since I expected the October box to be amazing. I don’t know of another subscription box service like this one, but I’ll keep looking.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that tonight we will have our Autumn Equinox fire, to celebrate the official changing of the season. It should be a perfect night to do so. Campfires in the Fall are so much cozier.
How was your week? More coffee? Do you welcome Fall or are you mourning the end of Summer?

I find that I am quite looking forward to winter and willing to skip autumn, which seems already to have arrived here in eastern North Dakota. My backyard garden is no longer in flower, thanks to the sun’s being lower in the sky and blocked by trees.
Best wishes for your week!
Wow, isn’t winter rather fierce in ND? We have land in the NW corner of South Dakota.. We plan to return in May, I can’t wait. Thanks for stopping by!
What a beautiful photo. We do not have too many leaves on the ground yet as the temperatures have been quite high.
Same here. The pic is in anticipation of Fall.. 🙂 Leaves haven’t really started to turn yet but the chill is in the air.
An Autumn Equinox fire sounds like a bunch-o-fun! Too bad about the nocturnal readers’ box subscription.
It’s the annual Fall Fair where I am right now–a sure sign that Autumn is here!

How fun… :-). Today it’s 70, clear and sunny.. I bet the cider mills are packed!
Its actually summer this side of the hemisphere, its hot and dry and I am praying for rain, he worrld is a funny place its dry here and flooding somewhere else ..

Yes… one side is flooded and the other has a drought.. I wish we could help each other in those situations!
Hi Kathleen. Our leaves are starting to fall. My favorite Austree out front is always the first to start dropping and it’s already about a quarter done. The Redwood needle clusters are also coming down in earnest. Here in North Cal. we always worry that everything is getting enough water and this summer has been no different. So, yes, the fall and winter are very welcome here ASAP.
Is rain and snow referred to “moisture” where you live? It is in South Dakota, where we have property..
I know I’m a little late for the weekend coffee share..since it’s Wednesday today..lol. I love the photo with the leaves and your feet. Great photo. I believe fall is my favorite season. I have not yet seen fall here in southern Nevada though. We had 98 yesterday, and I spent most of last weekend relaxing in the pool. I am very much looking forward to fall though. Shopping for fall clothes is fun. I got a new pair of boots recently, and I need to add at least a couple jeans to my fall wardrobe. Have an awesome week!
As much as I love summer, shopping for Fall clothes is my favorite.. I love earth tones, it’s pretty much all I wear, so the Fall selection is right in line with what I would choose.. Thanks for reading!
