Hello and Happy September from Onsted! Thanks for joining me for coffee at the campsite on this Labor Day weekend. We’ve got Pike Place and Dark Magic on the coffee menu.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that our site is small and pretty hilly. Too small for our trailer, actually. I thought for sure when I booked it that I picked the right criteria but apparently I didn’t. Plus, it is the holiday so six months ago I probably took what I could get to be near our family. We’ll make it work. Bill’s mad truck driving skills save us every time. He’s positioned and parked this thing in some amazing situations. We’ve never had to use leveling blocks for our picnic table, but they work! LOL
Pretty decent storms are in the forecast each day so we’ll need to get out outdoor activities in early. I never did patch my kayak but at least I remembered to bring the patch kit! It’s holding up pretty well so far, yesterday I paddled out to Wampler’s Lake.
Bummer about the rain but it also means an opportunity to stretch out with my BOOK! I am halfway through NOS4A2 by Joe Hill. This is the second book of his I’ve read, the first was Heart Shaped Box and I’m looking forward to the rest!
Super excited to share the contents of my June Nocturnal Reader’s box as well. In fact, I should have brought it with me so I could take the pics here! Hmm, next time. July should be shipping soon! (rubbing hands together)
This week has been extremely busy trying to wrap up a project at work. This coming week will be the same, and it’s short, so I’ll really need to scramble. Twice this week I’ve dreamt about work, and wake up thinking about procedures. We’re on the home stretch, though, so I’ll soon be able to close this one out. And on to the next!
What’s new with you? More coffee?
Grab a beverage and join us over at Eclectic Ali’s for the #WeekendCoffeeShare!

Happy weekend!
Hi Kathleen, It’s always a better weekend when you stop by for a visit. I had to laugh at that coffee cup. It has to be a photo you found somewhere because only a few of us are old enough to recall that group – unless they are a new trend topic regenerated as a target of mockery. We sure mocked them when they were current with 4th grade girls. And then you’re camping at some place wonderful it seems; and with storms on the agenda… As long as you have a good book or the tools of writing near at hand – what could be better? I can almost smell the forest and lake. Anyway. thanks for stopping by. I had a nuts week but was very productive both for work and writing. I hope you’ll stop by my virtual tent for a cup of something hot and ready to read. I have several literary snacks to share.
BTW – I don’t know what the form below is for, but am not to embarrassed to ask. What is the intended use for requesting name, email and website? Do folks share their blog site or coffee share below? What happens if one does share their blog or coffee share? Perhaps this form is the comment tool of your blog service but it seems I can’t leave a comment without also leaving all this info. Is this intentional?
All the best – travel safe
Aw, thank you, Gary, and thanks for stopping by for coffee. Nope! Took that photo over the weekend! The Monkees mugs stay in the trailer and will always appear in Weekend Coffee Share posts when we are camping. Hubs is a huge fan and we also went to see them in concert here in Detroit a few years back. 🙂 My comment form came that way from wordpress.org, with the exception of the check box, that was added due to GDPR compliance. And I see my CommentLuv is still not working. That is supposed to pull a link to my visitors’ latest blog post when they comment. And of course my privacy policy – link at bottom. I promise I won’t share your info or spam you! Thanks so much for stopping by!
I envy you the kayak outing. Sounds lot a lot of fun. As does the rain with opportunities to read for a while. I am mostly taking photos while my husband house painting. Back is done, and he’s started on the front, leaving the wall where my fall flowers are now blooming until last. Best wishes for the week!
I tried to photograph the coolest looking green frog in the bathhouse, but it was too foggy. That was the most interesting photo op of the weekend. Thanks so much for stopping by!
