Good Morning and come on in out of the rain! Yes, a balmy 35 degrees and rain on this Sunday, so I don’t suppose you are up for patio coffee! I know I’m not. Brrrrrr!
We had upwards of 58 yesterday so with that comes lots of work outside and I’m stiff and sore to prove it! My neighbor had a large tree taken out and gave us some wood, so we also worked to haul the large branches over the fence and cut up some of the bigger pieces. Super grateful to have this addition to our wood inventory! In doing yard clean up, I also noticed my Autumn Joy Sedum has started to sprout, though I’d left last year’s flowers. Kind of a neat circle of life.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you one of the highlights of the week was Bookstock, a huge used book and media sale in a local mall. I went with a co-worker after work on Monday and snagged 10 more titles to add to my ever growing TBR list!
I had brought my Pet Sematary tote bag with me, thinking I’d need to to carry books while browsing. I’ve accumulated several tote bags like these through my subscription boxes, such as Creepy Crate. But I wasn’t sure about it, I didn’t want anyone to think I was planning to abscond with any books. While we were scanning the titles, a lady walked by with red Bookstock tote bags and offered me one. I told her actually I’d brought my own and would it be frowned upon if I used it. She replied, “We don’t frown here. This is a happy place.” LOL It sure is.
We then stopped at Bar Louie for dinner and perused our haul.
I’m so happy with my finds! I told my friend/co-worker that these would be saved until I completed my Lean Six Sigma certification. She already completed hers and has been a huge help.
And I love my tote bag! I’m not sure about the new movie though.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m happy this is a short work week and that I’m glad to have lots of time to study with no class until April 26th. April 26th! Where has this month gone? It will be Halloween soon. (woohoo!!!!) On that note, I’d also tell you that I’m happy to have gotten a campsite for Hayes Haunt! This camping weekend books up SO fast and I really wish they would do it two weekends in October like some parks do, to give more people a chance to get in.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that my Sunday is again filled with work – I have some things to catch up on for work on Monday, then it’s painting upstairs! I always underestimate jobs like this, so I’ll have to figure out where to section out the work and continue Monday night. I know I won’t finish today!

All those books…. *faints*
I read Go Ask Alice in 8th grade. Twas all the rage with us youngins then. A great, sad book. Have you read it before?
Have a great week!

I remember it from years ago, but haven’t read it. Yes, a pretty dark classic. And the paperback, as old as it is, doesn’t appear to have been read.. Thanks, you too!
I love the photo of the Autumn Joy. How wonderful with so many new books to read. I always feel so rich with a bag full of carefully chosen new books. I enjoyed having coffee with you, even if it wasn’t on the patio 🙂 Right now it’s 82 here and the sun is hot. I’m having another cup of coffee inside, to escape the heat.
I’m longing for that hot summer sun, drifting peacefully in my kayak!
oh Kathleen. . .
I both love and hate used book sales.
I quickly forget my TBR pile already at home and easily find titles to add.
I can resist anything but temptation and books. . .
Pray for me.

As do I! My local library’s book sale starts tomorrow and yes, I’m going! 😁
I hope that you’re getting caught up on your work. And that you’ve gotten to the book sale.
