Good Morning on this snowy Sunday!  Come on in and warm up, my phone tells me it’s a balmy 3 degrees out there!  Thanks so much for stopping by..

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how I had no choice but to join the droves of people at the grocery store on Friday. We got maybe 6″ – 8″ inches of snow on Saturday, not a big deal for southeast Michigan, but why drive in it if you don’t have to? I spent the day cleaning out a walk in closet that I can happily say I can actually walk in now! Bill cleared the sidewalks, then we spent the evening with Netflix and played around a little with Bill’s remote control snowmobile.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you I finished out my 2018 GoodReads challenge, with two books ahead, though somehow it counted one title twice, so I really only made it by one. Did you partake in a reading challenge last year?

I just finished Bird Box by Josh Malerman, the first book of 2019.  Were you one of the many that watched it on Netflix?  Great movie and as always, the book was better! Right now I’m reading The Michigan Murders by Edward Keyes. I’ve never really been into true crime, but it’s a very good read so far. My last Creepy Crate box was very true crime-ish and I plan to work on that today to share with you! It’s the December box and it’s bi-monthly, so my next box won’t be until mid-February (rubbing hands together).

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m happy to be able to sleep in tomorrow – we have MLK Jr. Day off. I’m looking forward to meeting up with a friend and also need to spend some time studying for the CCBA.

Need a warm up?  What’s new with you?

  1. I think we got that same snow storm! Kudos for meeting your GR challenge. I also saw Bird Box. I enjoyed it, but not surprised to hear the book is better. Enjoy your day off tomorrow for MLK. I’m excited to have one more day to sleep in!

    1. Hi Colline! It was probably something I did. LOL Like accidentally marked it Read, then went back to it. I kept my goal at 30 again for this year. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Hi Kathleen, and good morning from the early am portion of MLK day in northern California, where have may more degrees than just 3 outside. I think I noted the thermometer registered 43 as I made the trek up the damp driveway. Work through the end of last year kept me from making much headway in the reading department, but my Kindle app and I managed a few good reads through the ending weeks of last year. But I did manage to get several stories produced and posted to my story blog and managed to hit my goal of 50 by the end of 2018. I hope to do a better job of book reading in 2019 and am learning how to merge in keeping up with several bloggers now. All good stuff. Keep us posted on your best reads because your voice is one of the trusted ones, so I’ll be reading.

    1. Thank you so much!! How very kind, I will try not to disappoint this year! 🙂 I hope to keep a good balance of reading and writing in 2019. We will be up to 40 on Wednesday and it will feel like summer..

  3. The snow is so awesome!! Love it! Congratulations to finishing the reading challenge,. Great job! I did participate as well. My goal was 50 books, and I read 62. What are your reading right now?

    1. Wow, you read double! I wish I had more time. I’m reading The Michigan Murders.. Back in the late 60s, several crimes took place not far from where I live.
