Good Morning! Come on in. We woke up to a dusting of snow and it’s already starting to diminish. Grab a cup and seat. How are you?
I had my post op appointment this week and all is well. I decided to start PT (it was optional) as I still limp pretty bad without my cane. But I get around fine with it once I was reminded the proper way to use my cane (whoops). I’d forgotten you use the cane on the opposite side. So with my right hip being the one worked on, I must hold my cane in my left hand. What a difference! LOL
I visited a friend a few days ago who also had surgery and is now also getting around with a cane. We were dying laughing as we both limped our way to the door when I left. “Look at us!” Haha. 25+ years of friendship and here is proof.
On top of recovering, I think I have a handle on everything this holiday, I’m about halfway done shopping, now to plan and shop for Christmas Eve dinner in which we’ll be hosting Bill’s family. It looks like we are in the path of the next winter storm and I’m excited for that to happen. I’ve been anxious for snow this year, even though I can’t ride my sled until probably February. But it’s always nice to have a white Christmas.
Being home, I’ve spent more time with our smart TV than I ever have, and in addition to adding YouTube, I’m tickled to have added my Spotify account to our Roku! I listened to my Christmas playlist as I wrote Christmas cards last night. I took a break and got on my treadmill, and lo and behold, the music flipped from my TV to my treadmill, on which I enabled the Bluetooth! Hehehe.. Then when I hopped off, I had the option on the TV to switch back. Pretty Star Trek…
Well, today I’ll try to get some more shopping done before the snow hits. Thank you Natalie for hosting our last Weekend Coffee Share for 2022! I will likely still brew a pot, so you are welcome to visit, we just won’t have the official link up. Have a very Merry Christmas/Happy Holiday and Happy New Year! All the best to you in 2023.
Glad to hear all is well with your post-op appointment and you have a good handle on the holidays. Have a merry Christmas and happy New Year! See you in 2023.

Thank you Natalie! Enjoy your holiday!
Good to hear you are on the mend. Merry Merry
Thank you, Antoinette!
Hi Kathleen,
I well recall my cane from before I had my back surgery. I both loved and hated it.
Loved the comfort and freedom it gave me but hated needing it.
Post surgery, I’ve not used it more than a few times right afterwards while I recovered.

Yes, I can’t wait until I don’t need it! Even walking on the treadmill makes my arms sore.
Hope you’re up and about by Christmas day, how nice to have a white Christmas. Sounds like you’re very techy.
Thank you! Yes, I’m hoping for snow, but in time for holiday traveling. I’d say my tech level is intermediate. 🙂
It’s good that you have a friend to laugh with, about your post-op woes! Yes, I had to think hard about how to hold the crutch when I used one earlier this autumn. I’m glad you’re starting PT, it can really make a difference. I hope you’ll have an enjoyable and restful Christmas.
It was so funny, we looked at each other with our canes and just busted out laughing. Yes, even though I’ve been really good about doing the exercises at home, I go back for a follow up in 5 weeks and want to say I did everything they suggested.
I did a good chunk of my shopping online. I’m not one for stores or crowds. I can’t believe Christmas is so close. Happy holidays, Kathleen.
