Come on in and make yourself comfy! The coffee choices are pretty much the same as last week. I’m loving my Death Warmed Over coffee mug, which I obtained through a past subscription box!
How was your week? It was a bit tough to get my head back into work mode after being gone for 6 days, but I finally did it. I’m thankful that nothing really blew up until Thursday, but now all is well. I do have some catching up to do this weekend, logging, reporting and such.
Our mandatory “report to the office” day is Wednesday, which my co-workers have affectionately tagged “Family Day”, since our team is together. Every Wednesday this month, I’ve made Halloween treats to bring in and share, except for the week I was in Florida. This week I made Halloween themed white chocolate dipped pretzels.
And a co-worker gifted me with these awesome Nutter Butter ghosts!
Next Wednesday of Halloween week, I’l be bringing Soul Cakes! I can’t wait. Hehehehe..
This morning I will be dropping off several extra bags of candy for our neighboring town’s Trunk or Treat. I bought a ton of it for Hayes Haunt several weeks ago, our annual Halloween camping weekend. I either bought too much or there were less kids, because we will never give this all away on Halloween night. I do hope we have a good number of trick or treaters. It’s been dwindling over the years. The Trunk or Treat is at the Westland Historical Society, where last night we attended a ghost hunt! I have lots of photos and recorded audio to pore through this weekend. I’ll be working remotely on Halloween, so I’ll have plenty of time to set up for the ghouls and goblins. And praying for good weather.
On Monday our library had another book sale, so I slipped out on my lunch hour (yay, remote day!) and added these to my never ending TBR list. Though horror is my genre of choice, I added a classic, a documentary, and several by John Green that I’ve heard were very good reads.
Wednesday we carved pumpkins and began the tedious tasks of cleaning and separating the seeds.
I scored these awesome glow in the dark fangs at Dollar General, kind of like pumpkin dental implants. Made creating the mouth much easier.
They turned out pretty cool! Though mine on the left resembles a woolly mammoth.
A quick douse of hairspray and they were on the porch, accompanied by their skeleton friends.
It works well – we are on day 4 with no squirrel nibbles.
Today we’ll be visiting my mom-in-law for her birthday and then I’m afraid it’s a night in with no campfire. This is what the rest of my weekend looks like, as Olga’s remnants are paying us a visit. Not complaining though, as it’s likely she won’t bring any damage.
Though I’m not one for rainy days, there is much to do indoors, catching up with work, blog posts, photos from the concurrent Instagram challenges I signed up for, and I could sure pay my elliptical a visit or two.
More coffee? I hope you had a great week! Thanks for stopping by.

Wow. Your pumpkins turned out well. You’re really into this time of year! That’s cool. I hope the weather is good for your trick or treaters.
I love that you call the work day Family Day. I’m on the lookout for a workplace like that. Sounds lovely.
Happy weekend!

I love Halloween. 🙂 Yes, I’m grateful for a pretty good workgroup and boss. I hope it remains that way. Have a great weekend!
The tooth look OK in the pumpkins in the light, but they do add a lot in the dark when you have them lit! I hope you have a great week ahead 🙂
Thanks for stopping by! I planning for some glow in the dark pics in the nights to come. 🙂

Thanks for joining me for coffee!
Hi Kathleen. You too had me at scones. We are at the end of a partial week with no power, thus no heat, due to the fires. We were blessed to have 3 friends who were under a forced evacuation, staying with us. Our air was smoky. Our home was dark except for the good old battery powered lanterns and our food was mostly dry stuff because all we had working was the gas stove. But we laughed and enjoyed some rich time with our guests and they enjoyed having a safe place to sit out the danger from the fire. None of them lost their home and I got a little work done each day by going to a local center where the city provided tables with power and wifi. Weird week, but all good. Well, except that I’m really late in catching up with everyone’s coffee shares. And even here, both you and Maria greets us with warm scones. Life is still full of goodness.

Gary, it’s so good to hear from you!! I’m so glad you and your family are safe and it sounds like you made some memories! Also glad to hear no one lost their home. Stay safe out there!
I love those fangs—and those chocolate dipped pretzels look amazing! I’ll have to try making them even if it not a special occasion. We only had 21 kids this year—down a bit from previous years but the weather was lousy!

We had crappy weather too.. So disappointing.. I had all these plans to set up in our driveway. I look forward to next year. And I have to get rid of all this candy!
