Good morning and come on in! The morning chill is not what I’ve been used to in the past week! I’ve just returned from Florida after spending the week with my Dad and sister and the mornings were about 75 degrees. I’ve got Starbucks Pike Place and Pumpkin Spice Latte. Make yourself comfy!
Last week was pretty crazy getting everything buttoned up at work before I left – getting my projects to a stopping point or making arrangements as needed for others to cover. I will probably check my email tomorrow so I’m not spending all morning catching on emails upon my return. And I want to know what I’m walking into on Monday. 🙂
In Florida, I stayed with my sister and got to meet my niece and nephew, Coco and Curly! They are four months old and brother and sister. How I loved waking up to kitten gymnastics all over my bed at 5am and having my toes bitten! They warmed up to me quickly and soon I was able to scoop them up for purr sessions throughout the week. I miss those two so much.
Then, one morning before my sister left for work, she asked me to put out some bird seed in the bird feeder for the raccoon. I thought she was kidding. Nope. He arrived for dinner later that afternoon. This was just several feet from her front window.
I had a great week visiting she and my Dad, and I’m hoping for one last visit before the year is out.
On my return flight I finished two ebooks, Will Haunt You and Small Towns, Dark Places. The latter was my favorite of the two, a short story collection. Several tales actually made me gasp, leaving my airplane seat mates probably wondering what my deal was.
Then this morning my October Creepy Crate arrived! I’ll wait for others to receive their boxes before I post any spoilers. Though it is about time to share my first Night Worms box, which arrived last week! Very, very cool stuff.
More coffee?
It’s a beautiful sunny day today and supposed to get up to 60 degrees. I’m sure the cider mills will be jam packed but I’m going to load up my kayak for one last paddle. I also want to try out my GoPro Handler and see what underwater shots I can come up with. Then tonight we have tickets to Hallowe’en at Greenfield Village! Full day planned. I hope tomorrow is as nice to get in one last bike ride.

Getting your toes bitten is the best!
It was so nice being around kittens again! They were so comical!
I visited Greenfield village so many years ago. How fun to go there for a Halloween event.
Love the pics of the kitties too – so adorable

This is our third year, we enjoy it, but it’s many of the same attractions. Though this year we sat in on a storyteller narrating The Tell Tale Heart. He was amazing!
Feeding a racoon in teh birdfeeder! And I thought the squirrels were my birdfeeder problem. Adorable picture though.
Probably the closest I’ve seen a raccoon! And he saw me through the window taking pics – when I got close he’d stick his head out.
Those kittens–so sweet! I really wish my allergies hadn’t gotten so bad–I really miss having a cat.

I miss mine so much!
Love the racoon picture!
He stayed for quite a while too!
How fun! Florida is one of the two states I’ve never been to (the other being Georgia.) A change of environment, and spending time with family is so refreshing. I’m happy you could get away for a while. The kittens are super cute, so is the raccoon. Enjoy your last piece of the weekend.
Thank you! It was action packed for sure.. 🙂
