Good morning on this sunny Saturday!  Still waiting for patio coffee weather. Sitting outside in 42 degree weather would send us running for coffee warm ups constantly! Come on in and get comfy!

Two weeks ago I celebrated another trip around the sun and a dear friend who reads my coffee share posts gifted me this awesome candle! It smells better than my coffee!  LOL  Such a thoughtful gift.. I’ll burn it every week when we meet.

My garden is more than ready to go in (will I ever get this right?). I feel like now I started the seeds way too early as the plants, especially the tomatoes, are huge and it’s only approaching mid-May. Which leads to another issue.

Sara.

Sara, our resident robin, has returned and is raising more children in the nest atop our motion sensor light. We left the nest there last fall, as it was so well made and we hoped she’d return. And she has. (We know it’s not the same bird, we are totally having fun with this.)

Last weekend, Bill got close to the nest to trim some grass that was hanging down and constantly setting off the motion sensor light. She was NOT happy. We now have our own Angry Birds game going on in the backyard. I don’t know how I’m going to get any gardening done without wearing a helmet as the garden is right below the nest. This should be interesting.

I’m looking forward to exploring another river this afternoon with my paddling group! We will be putting in on the Clinton River and taking out at Cass Lake. I’m putting the finishing touches on our last adventure on Orchard Lake last weekend, and will be posting that soon in my Sunday Paddle series. I REALLY hope it warms up soon!  Only a high of 58 today but supposed to feel like 61. With the sun, I hope the temps climb higher. I can’t wait for hot summer days to paddle and play around in the water.

Well, I must be going! Tune in next week for the garden saga. Thank you for stopping by and I’ll be around shortly!

    1. 🙂 We named her Sara after an expecting character in a show we were watching, Glitch.. There is another robin with her this year that is even more vocal, so Bill and I call her the mother-in-law..

  1. Sara the robin is very cute. When I was growing up my parents had a swallows nest outside the sorting room and we were not allowed outside when there were residents!

Love the coffee candle too. 😊

  2. I wish I would have planted my seeds earlier! But it’s so cold over here so it will take a while before I can take them out to the greenhouse anyway. Your plants look brilliant! And that coffee candle… I’d love that! I would keep it on all day long, especially on cold days.

  3. Your garden looks awesome I bet with the warmer weather this coming week those tents will come in handy keeping the plants cozy! So glad you enjoy your coffee time candle too!

    1. Thank you again! It’s perfect for the weekend coffee share! I got the tents really to keep the darn helicopters out! Such a pain to clean out..

  4. Our mornings aren’t quite ready for coffee either, well, unless you bundle up in a blanket, which is doable. Love the cute Robins.

  5. Hi Kathleen,
So sorry to be so late this week. I had another one of those weekends which left little time for blogging
I loved hearing that someone other than me is dealing with crazy robins. We don’t have a nest nearby that I know about, but we have this certain window that drives our local red breasted birds nuts and they frequently attack it over and over.
Many a quiet afternoon stretch in the living room chair has been interrupted by one slamming itself into the window over and over. We are surprised that it hasn’t knocked itself senseless yet.
Hope you have a great week that includes some safe time in the garden.

    1. NP Gary, thank you so much for stopping by! I think the children have launched, so it may be safe to garden. I heard a thump against our kitchen window the other day, so I think one of them made a wrong turn.
