Good Morning and Happy New Year, my blogger friends! I hope you had a wonderful, safe holiday season. It’s so nice to catch up with you again! Grab a beverage and make yourself comfy!
We had a wonderful holiday with family and luckily the snow did not impact our travels. Since then, we’ve had some really mild weather and I have to keep reminding myself it’s January and not March! Tomorrow is supposed to be 43F. Soon I’ll be thinking about what seeds to get started for my garden.
PT is going well from my hip replacement and I’d say I’m about 95%. I still have several sessions to go and I feel like my hip is stronger each time. Funny how time flies when I’m there and when I leave I realize it’s been about an hour and a half!
My highlight of this new month is purchasing a new to me Dodge Durango. I hated to give up my Explorer but she was getting pretty long in the tooth. I’m not accustomed to all these crazy new Star Trek features in these new vehicles, so it’s been fun to see all it can do. I think my favorites will be using the built in navigation and answering phone calls from the dashboard.
Now that the holidays are over, I still have some things I wanted to accomplish around the house during my recovery time. I’ve been chipping away at logging my physical books in Bookshelf, I’ve reduced the pile of boxes from my Dad’s by two and my office is back in somewhat of an order. Now, my treadmill time is spent reading through two books I’ve been waiting for FOREVER on Libby, so I need to get through them both before they are whisked back into the ether.
I’m also taking part in Bloganuary, and I must say, I’ve been pretty successful with the prompts so far! Day 8 and I’m still in the game. I normally don’t have much luck with writing prompts.
Well, I must shift gears and move on (I tend to compartmentalize my weekend time). I’ll be stopping by shortly to see how your holiday was! Thank you to Natalie for hosting our coffee share and for providing this nifty new badge! Come and join our growing circle of weekend coffee share bloggers!
Happy New Year, Kathleen! Congrats on doing so well with your PT, your new car and participating in Bloganuary. Sounds like you had a productive first week of 2023. Thank you for your weekend coffee share.

Happy 2023 to you and good luck with Bloganuary. I love writing prompts but hate the pressure of having to do them on a certain day.

I can totally understand that! So far I’ve been lucky!
When I got my new used car I didn’t think I would ever know let alone use the bells and whistles ,but now I don’t see how I ever drove anywhere qithout them. Good luck with your continuwd recovery.
Thank you! I know, my Explorer had a radio, CD player and an audio input, that’s it! LOL I’m loving all this new stuff!
Hi Kathleen
Nice to meet you
Lovely new car, although I don’t like having new cars myself, i like driving what I know!

🙂 Still getting used to the push button ignition!
I’m glad your hips are recovering nicely after your surgery.
There’s been a couple of days in the low 40’s here, which felt so flip-flopped from December when the days were in the teens and 20’s. I’ve already began some seeds before the new year – seeds that takes about a month to germinate. I’m hoping to start sowing seeds for vegetables end of this month, early next month. Can’t wait.
Hi Kathleen,
Great to hear about your PT success and progress.
The new car gives me the chills. I’m not a fan of all the stuff they cram into cars these days. Too many are just not needed, to expensive to maintain because having more to break means that more things will and often they’re just distractions.
But – I do hope you love it and have only great experiences with yours.
Keep us posted.

Happy New year! Nice vehicle & nice to meet you through Weekend Coffee Share. Oh gracious, sounds like you’ve had a time with your hip. I’ll have to check out some of our Bloganuary posts. Karen
Hi Karen! Thanks for stopping by! So happy to connect..
Hi Kathleen – so glad to hear that the new hip is going amazingly well. I’m at the 3mth mark with mine and feel like I’m almost there – I think I overdid it a bit around 8-9wks and inflamed things a bit. I’ve backed off and it’s settled nicely – I’m even beginning to sleep on that side a bit – yay! Good luck with Blogjanuary – I gave up on daily prompts years ago – just too much to keep up with, so I’m impressed with those who perservere.
Hi Leanne! Thank you for your hip update, I’ve been thinking of you! I think I’m almost ready to lose my cane, just a very, very slight limp now. Still working on muscle strengthening. I’m starting to sleep on my surgery side as well. So nice since I’m a side sleeper and can flop around like I used to. LOL I think the reason I’ve been successful with Bloganuary is that I’m still off work at this time.. Not sure I could fit it in otherwise. But, I’ve had an easy time with the prompts so that is nice. Thanks so much for stopping by!
