Good Morning! I missed our coffee date last week! Sometimes I feel like the weekend ends before it even begins.. How are you? Make yourself comfy.
Our dirt bike helmets arrived this week, which came with goggles and gloves. I was happy to be able to breathe a bit better in these, than our snowmobile helmets. So far pretty happy with them, the quality is decent for what they cost. Can’t wait to try them out! We still have to get ORV stickers and find a place to go.
I also cleaned house at REI a few weeks ago thanks to a coupon from my paddle partner in crime who works there! I needed to replace my 25 year old hiking boots, which had literally come apart. So I scored some new ones, socks, a paddling book, first aid kit for my kayak, a whistle, AND…. fuel bottles for the dirt bikes! I was eyeing these on Amazon and was happy to see REI had an assortment of sizes! Our dirt bike gas tanks are just under a gallon, so that’s a bummer. We were shopping for these bottles so we could carry them with and get a bit further or have a reserve so we can make it back.
Today, we are heading out for a hike and I get to try out the new boots. It’s at a park I haven’t been to since the 6th grade! These are the trails I mentioned in past kayaking posts, overlooking Newburgh Lake that I frequent. It’s still a bit chilly but the sun is out and I’m looking forward to getting outside!
The seeds I planted are more than ready to go in! I think I started them too early, they are huge. I hesitate to put them in just yet though as I don’t want to make the same mistake I did last year and lose them in a frost. Hoping they can hang on a few more weeks. The bigger ones are the tomato seeds my sister sent me, and the ones on the left are from peppers I harvested last year! I’m excited to see how they turn out.
One more thing to add to my never ending list of things to do is to work on tagging my photos. Every now and again I skim through the pics on my phone, delete those I don’t need and move others to my DropBox account for safekeeping and to make room on my phone. I chatted with a friend today on different ways to approach this and went down a rabbit hole of exploring another service (Box) which supports tagging, then finding out I need a Windows upgrade for the Box desktop app, to then considering a new laptop. Sigh. Amazing how things spiral. So. I think I’ll worry about backing up my files for now, instead. My laptop is getting up in years and that should probably be my first priority.
And we still have the ongoing ceiling project. Today we (Bill) will do some more sanding. 🙂 Then I have some work work I need to focus on.
And that’s my week/weekend! Hope yours was a good one. See you around the coffee share!
Tagging photos is high on have to do list but frequently gets pushed down a notch or two. Have a great week.
It always gets pushed back. I feel like I need to commit to at least an hour a week and I still won’t be able to catch up!
