Good Morning and come on in! I see the snow has stopped, I was hoping it would snow all day, actually. I want to get out later for another winter hike. Coffee, hot chocolate? Make yourself comfy. I’m still able to stomach black coffee and I’ve been doing pretty well with fasting during the week. Today though I will splurge and have some creamer. How was your week?
Last weekend we did get all of our leaves picked up – 22 more bags on top of the 10 I’d bagged the weekend before. I love these maples but GEEZ. So many leaves. I started a fire to warm up and use up all the branches I picked up out of the yard. We took a break with some hot chocolate.
This week will be a busy one, like that is anything new. I head out next Monday to spend Christmas with my dad and sister in Florida. Being out that whole week and this being the busiest time of year at work, there will be lots to do to ensure all the loose ends are tied before I take off. And of course gift shopping and shipping to do this week. This last week was our cookie exchange at work and I made Chocolate Chip Snowballs – they were amazing!
I got an incredible assortment and I’m happy to say I saved just a few and packaged up the rest for Bill to give to his co-workers. They still think I baked them all myself.. Haha.
Friday night we went to dinner and I was amused to see one of my concert t-shirts from Van Halen in 2012 hanging on the wall. Too funny.
Yesterday we were treated to an unexpected weekend coffee share in real life when our former next door neighbor stopped by! We were so happy to see her. When she moved I didn’t know if we’d ever see her again. We sipped hot chocolate and caught up for a good while. Luckily as it turns out, she’s not far and also frequents one of our favorite restaurants. We plan to meet for coney dogs soon!
The Weekend To Do List – Christmas cards, some shopping, wrapping, finish putting the tree up, a trip to the post office and I finally found hats for my skeletons, which have kind of become my own Elf on a Shelf. They were the last of the Halloween decorations that remained so I decided they’d hang around for Christmas. I found them stockings, and just recently, hats.
Last night I spent a good amount of time wrestling through photos on my phone, which I thought I had figured out. Google Photos automatically syncs, but I like the way you can add tags and search using the Dropbox desktop app. Sigh. So now I’m not sure which is the best direction to go. Add to the list of rainy day activities.
Speaking of lists, it is calling and I must go. Thanks so much for stopping by! Our gracious host, Eclectic Alli, is taking a hiatus, so our dear friend Antoinette is taking the Weekend Coffee Share torch! Visit her blog and join in!
That hot chocolate looks divine! I want some! I hope you got a nice winter hike. Our snow melted. I’m hoping for colder weather and more snow. Looks like we are going to get it. Good luck with your list!
Thanks! I’m using up the Reddi-Whip from the Thanksgiving Burnout Pumpkin Pie! We did get a nice hike in and found some interesting artifacts. Now to find the time to craft a post.
What a great coffe break. Thanks a bunch.
Thanks again for hosting!
Very festive Christmas Skeletons 😉 I think I saw them on instagram earlier. too funny.
Hi Kathleen,
I too thought your version of elves on the shelf were a riot.
So, you make these guys work 2 holidays a year – correct?
Our son has one for his college studies. Now I know what we can do with it when he graduates mid 2020.
