Good morning and come on in! Grab a cup and make yourself comfy. Welcome to the second weekend coffee share of 2023!
As you can see, things look a bit different here on my blog. It was time for a refresh so I chose a new theme. I like it so far and it renders nicely on my phone. I hope you find it pleasant and easy to read. I still have some code tweaks to do (figure out) so I hope I don’t break it. Any comments or suggestions are always welcome! Also if anything appears off to you, please let me know.
I’m still working towards full hip recovery and will be back to work soon. Yesterday Bill and I went for a walk outside for the first time in forever. It was a beautiful, clear sunny day, but the temp was only about 30F for a high. I was able to circle the block which is probably about a third of a mile. I’m barely limping without my cane and getting stronger with every PT visit. The sun is out again today, can you believe it? We don’t see it much this time of year.
I can’t believe we are halfway through January! I had joked that December and January would be when we get the most snow because I can’t ride my snowmobile. But we haven’t gotten much at all. I’m still holding out hope we get a dumping of the white stuff in February/March so I can at least ride a few weekends. We will see. It really hasn’t felt like winter at all this season. It will soon be time for planning our spring and summer and that is always a welcome concept.
Well, I must get on with my list making. Like I started a countdown to my time off and everything I had to button up, now there are things around the house I want to get done while I have the time at home.
Thank you Natalie for hosting our Weekend Coffee Share! I’ll be around shortly to visit.
I hope your recovery continues and that you are back to yourself in no time! While we’re at it, I’ll hope you get tons of snow! We have some snow, it’s white everywhere, but it keeps thawing every other day, to come back in large amounts, to thaw, to snow again, and so on. It’s been like that since beginning of December. I do like the snow, and I’ve been sledding many times this winter, built a number of snow sculptures, and had some lovely walks in the snow.

I have LOVED watching the snow fall this season! More so than any other year, for some reason. I’d much prefer a blanket of white than all the dead foliage. So pretty on the trees, too.
I think I would like the coffee in the k cup. I like mine with cream & sugar. We’re having a January warm-up & seeing some puddles from the melting snow. February has historically been our coldest month according to the eclectic bill. Take it easy on the hip & seems you’ll back to yourself in no time at all. #Weekendcoffeeshare

Thank you Karen! We watch the DOT cameras to see what the weather is like out there. We will be coming out in May, I can’t wait!
That’s wonderful that you’ve been out for a walk! Your new theme looks good except this kind of theme (mobile first?) where single posts are shown in full window width are quite hard to read when you use a computer. However, it’s easily fixed by just making the browser window smaller. I’m glad you’re making progress with your hip recovery. I also hope you get some snow soon!
Thank you Susanne! I added the sidebar back in, now the single post screen is not so wide. Let me know if you think that looks better. PT gave me a thicker resistance band today, as they said I’m “moving up in the world”. Haha..
It looks great now, Kathleen! And good to hear about your resistance band, that’s a sign of progress!
