Good Morning! Come on in and grab yourself a cup! I indulged in some spooky caffeinated goodness from Bones Coffee, so take your pick! (not an affiliate, just wanted to sample and share their Halloween blends) The caramel apple is quite good, I might try Jacked O’Lantern next.
How was your week? Mine went fast, but it’s not over. I’m in about 30% of the Halloween spirit that I’m normally in, mainly just because it’s rough getting around. But. It’s OK. I did attempt to drown my sorrows in some spooky literary goodness and this is what I came away with.
We are still having such nice fall weather and I’m over the moon grateful for working from home. I had an office window open this past week and it was clear and breezy outside. It was so nice to look past my monitor and see the yellow leaves of my maple against a blue sky and feel the wind on my face. The leaves fluttered from the tree past my window and I noticed the same from every window on my second floor throughout the day. It was like being in an autumn snow globe.
This weekend I’ll make lecso with the final tomatoes and Hungarian wax peppers from our garden, and also make another batch of cowboy candy to ship to my brother in AZ. Since I’m mailing it, I will need to can it properly, so I’ll be researching what I need to do that. The cowboy candy turned out AMAZING. Hot, but amazing. I will likely do this again next year but make the effort to omit the seeds and membranes from the jalapenos because Holy Mother of Christ (pouring a glass of milk). But SO delicious atop a rice cracker with cream cheese.
We’ll carve pumpkins this weekend, as well, another thing I meant to do about a week ago. Next Halloween will be so much better. I’ve got some work to catch up on and an idea for a Halloween short story so I hope to carve out some time to write. I’m gearing up for Nano Poblano 2022, so I’ll be collecting blog prompts.
It’s quite foggy now, but supposed to be another nice October Saturday, 60s and partly sunny. I hope wherever you are you’re enjoying Fall.
Thank you to Natalie for hosting our Weekend Coffee Share! Do you blog? We’d love for you to join us.
Sounds like you have some fantastic autumn weather and how nice that you still have things to collect from the garden. But you have to explain what cowboy candy is!
We’re having nice temperatures here too, about the same as you, but it’s very windy some days, like today. Still good to not have to take out the winter coat just yet.
Hi Susanne! Candied Jalapenos! Also known as Cowboy Candy. This is the recipe I used.. https://bellyfull.net/candied-jalapenos-cowboy-candy/ Yes, I’m going to take advantage of this sunny fall day as much as I can. Supposed to go up to 62F. Thanks for stopping by!
Cowboy candy sounds wild! (Probably too much for me). Have a great weekend.
I’ll definitely do it again with a bit less heat! I’m also not sure what to do with this hellfire syrup it marinates in.
I agree with Susanne about the sound of your autumn.
And thanks for explaining what Cowboy Candy is – I hadn’t heard of it either but we have a friend who I know would love it.

I like, to, but it’s been Halloween Lite this year. Haha.. Making the most of it. Thanks for stopping by!
National Blog Posting Month, fun. I committed to NaNoWriMo which starts November 1 as well.
Thanks for the virtual coffee, Kathleen.
Yes! I shared that with another writer friend.. Good luck!
Hi Kathleen,
I’m not a spice wimp, but have had to throw in the towel on all peppers from jalapenos to hotter-than. I can tolerate the cooler ones or if their diluted so much as to barley count as being there any more.
I loved the idea of being inside the snow-globe of autumn. I may do something with that idea someday.
Thanks for the visit.

How lovely to be able to work from home and to enjoy the beauty of nature while you’re in your office space. I’m not a big fan of Halloween, so it’s a time of the year that I let slide by quite happily….bring on Christmas with the pretty lights and family time – that’s a big favourite of mine (and I might be walking well by then!)
So nice to look forward to walking again! I am so excited to officially get back on my feet and get walking/exercising again. This has been such a drag. I don’t like being this sedentary.
