brewing coffee

Good Morning and come on in out of this Fall morning chill! There’s Pike Place, Pumpkin Spice or Pumpkin Spice Latte. (Yep, I’m one of those pumpkin fiends!) Yesterday I bought some pumpkin spice oatmeal and this time of year, my Facebook friends find funny memes to post on my wall such as pumpkin spice motor oil or toilet paper. Too funny.

How’ve you been? I survived the workweek only to be given more projects, so today will be a fun-filled day of hanging out in my office preparing for the upcoming week and finishing tasks that I did not get in on Friday.  But, it beats the alternative. Bill and I got up early (the only drawback to this!) to prepare and season a brisket to be smoked all day. So dinner is done! It’s dreary outside and we’ll have off and on rain showers all day, so it will be a good day to tackle indoor projects.

Hopefully I can carve out some time to dig into my next read, The Bone Weaver’s Orchard by Sarah Read, a very creepy sounding story about a boy who is sent to a boarding school in North Yorkshire, circa 1926, and his classmates begin to vanish.

I folded yesterday and ordered four more books through Amazon Prime thanks to the amazing suggestions from the Instagrammers I follow. With Halloween approaching, my feed has been filled with books from my beloved genre to be added to my TBR list. This was a #twinklelights prompt from the September #nightwormschallenge that believe it or not, I’m about to complete and have two more lined up for October. I’ll be jetting to Florida mid-week so I’ll need to prepare some of the prompts in advance (and load up my Kindle!)

I’m looking forward to both my Creepy Crate and Night Worms subscription boxes for October as well. I can imagine they will be epic this month!

To my delight, the Continuous Improvement Expo in which I’ll be displaying my work project (Lean Six Sigma class) this Wednesday will have a Halloween theme! I’ll need to go out today to shop for a tablecloth and some candy bowls (twist my arm) and more batteries for my twinkle lights. I am ALMOST to the end of this journey, the last step is to submit my paper and look forward to my green belt certification. And then there is next year’s project!

Well, I should be going. I have a lot of “work” work to do and really should get it out of the way so perhaps I can enjoy a portion of this dreary Sunday.  And I would love to stop by for coffee and hear about your week!

  1. Thank you for the coffee! I really like pumpkin spice 🙂 Can you sleep at night after reading all these scary books ? I’m afraid I couldn’t. I’ve always been so sensitive. LOL. Good luck with all your projects.
