Good morning once again from Sterling State Park in Monroe, Michigan!  Today is the first day of autumn and the last day of our camping weekend.  I am thrilled with the campsite we booked! There is a path down to the water so I can quickly and easily put my boat in. I’m in Heaven!

This the view from the back window of the trailer, and it was neat to open the shades in the morning to see what kind visitors we might have.  Down by the water, this guy hopped over right in front of us and stayed a while. We also saw two eagles this morning!

Yesterday was a fun, eventful day on the water, and I hope to go back out again today before we pack up. We’ve had OK weather, and watched a storm come through the area but luckily we just got a few sprinkles. We had walked down to the beach when the winds picked up and blew a shower of leaves down onto the sand. I stopped to video the moment while Bill reminded me our awning was down. He was off running and I was soon to follow.

The video did turn out kind of cool.

As reluctant as I am to leave, I am anxious to get home and finish some tasks I need to get done before Monday. I have an insanely busy week ahead with project deadlines, an expo in which I have a table to display one of my projects and a group training session I need to prepare for. I do have something to look forward to though – October 2nd is the second Silent Book Club meeting at the library! It will be a nice break mid-week.

  1. It’s so awesome to be able to spend the weekend out in nature! I went camping last weekend, but this weekend was spent in the city.. I enjoy your canoeing adventures. I hope you get everything done before the new week that you want to get done.

  2. My wife and I went kayaking this summer and remembered how much we loved doing it when we were dating. It’s good to see others do as well. I’ll send this post along to her and hopefully, convince her we need to buy some for Christmas!
