coffee

Good Morning on this dreary Sunday!  Was hoping for as nice of a day as we had Friday and Saturday, but I guess all good things must come to an end.  Come on in and pour yourself a cup!

It was a good week – I got closure on several major tasks at work and it will be nice to wrap those up. Friday was gorgeous and I got to paddle with a friend after work.

We paddled past a shallow section of the lake and this dude definitely had his eye on something!

It was nice to just float after a while and catch up. It soon clouded over though and we went in before the sun set, but did get a glimpse of the suns rays as they peeked through the clouds.

Then on Saturday I attended an organized clean up at the same lake!  Both canoers and kayakers showed up and we spent the morning with garbage bags picking trash out of the water. It was nice to see such a good turnout of almost 30 volunteers.

I found what I thought was a spring of some sort only to find it was a rather heavy duty cable lock! I texted the pic to Bill and he of course responded with “Lock Ness Monster”.  Haha.  It was.. Yick!

I was able to fill 2 1/2 kitchen bags before paddling back in for our group photo. And that’s just what I could reach!

What a haul!  We left everything near the parking area for the county to pick up.  I think the brake rotor was the most interesting find! And of course the plunger.

Once home and cleaned up, we spent the afternoon de-winterizing the camper and getting ready for our first trip out. Goodbye, pink antifreeze, hello camping season!

Then I was treated to a belated birthday dinner by a dear friend. We went to El Patio in Novi, home of the 90 mile salsa!  LOL It even contained a birthday onion.

In regards to the backyard bird saga, I got a few shots this week of the baby robin, and it think it might be safe for me for put my plants in, now that the nest is vacant.

Sara was there, keeping a close eye. I think she saw me with my camera.

So today (Sunday) I have an appointment to donate platelets, then we are off to Rural King for some camping supplies.  It’s been a good, pretty full weekend.   How was yours?   I’ll be around soon to drop in on your coffee shares.  Thanks, as always, to Natalie, for hosting and thank you for stopping by!
