Ah, a quiet morning by the fire, fresh blanket of snow outside, coffee and a book I can’t get my nose out of! Good Morning and thanks for stopping by!
The snow I wanted is finally here and we’re expecting 2-4″ Monday into Monday night (thanks Mother Nature! No better time than rush hour..) We’ll see. The weather is often nothing like what they predict. The snow is blanketing the burning bush tree outside my dining room window and I hope my cardinal friend returns, as that is his favorite hangout. However, I had two black squirrels chasing each other through the branches earlier, so I hope they don’t scare him away.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m determined to not wait until the last minute with all the Christmas activities – planning, shopping, wrapping, shipping, baking. Every year I tell myself I’ll get it all done early and kick back with my eggnog and watch all the crazy last minute shoppers on TV. So my list is made and I plan to get a good amount of the shopping done this weekend. My goal for this weekend is to also plan all the baking I’ll being doing – for our Cookie Exchange at work, and the treat bags I’ll be giving as gifts. I also plan to make the Fireball Fudge I said I’d make last year. I found some awesome gold sprinkles last year and decided on eggnog fudge instead. Too bad it turned out to be the consistency of taffy.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that tonight we’re off to the 58th Annual Big Brother and Big Sisters Indoor Motorcycle Ice Race! We’ve gone in years past and it’s always a fun time. Can’t believe it’s that time of year again. Tomorrow I’ll be attending a pop-up shop of a dear friend of mine who is an insanely talented jewelry artist and metalsmith!
So what’s new with you on this winter Saturday? Do you have snow in your region? Anything fun planned?

Down at the cottage on Cape Cod it is raining, but i will return home to 6″ tomorrow… And more on Tuesday. I do like snow, but I’m not ready for it.
I hope you have a great week and enjoy your snow!
I’ve been seeing on the news all the snow out your way.. Drive safe heading home!
Well, here in the DC area we’re getting a bit of snow ice. But other than that nothing much is going on. Fireball fudge sounds delicious. Enjoy your book and your weekend!
Thank you! I’ll post how it turns out.. Stay warm and safe!
No snow, but it is cold as all get out! Dipping below freezing tonight. Stay warm out there.
Yes, highs in the 20s this week. Fun times! Thanks for stopping by!
Here in Michigan, we’re under a winter storm advisory for “lake effect snow.” I hate driving in this stuff, but I have to admit that it’s awfully pretty to look at from somewhere warm and dry.
I saw, and as a snowmobiler, I’m jealous! I’m about 45 minutes west of Detroit. I’m planning my day early for tomorrow so I can get out of Dodge before it starts coming down on our commute.
I cannot comprehend such a thing as a motorcycle ice race. Hope you get all your Christmas activities done before the last minute. I have given up even hoping to do that as I never do. Luckily these days I don’t have alot to do. Have a good week
Irene Waters recently posted…Four Seasons
I’ll be posting video of it shortly on the Weekly Rewind hosted by Daisy Smiley Face! They use metal studded tires to grip the ice.. It’s fun to watch!
thanks for the follow
You’re welcome, I thought I already was! 🙂 Happy New Year!
