Good morning and I’d say come on in, but our virtual coffee shares are now more virtual than ever! I pray you are all doing well. We are doing well so far, just praying we all get back to normal soon.
This week my co-workers and I were remote full time, thank God, and I imagine it will be that way for a while. This was my first week in my new role and we are in full contingency mode, so I spent my week looking for ways to support my co-workers, as my onboarding activities didn’t quite go as scheduled, understandably so. Then of course, like everyone else, we had constant connectivity issues, so I may try also to catch up on some things today.
I went to several grocery stores before the mandatory order went into effect, so we are doing an inventory to see how long before I must go back out. I’ve never felt more like Carol from the Walking Dead. This past week I tried Kroger Delivery (Pickup was and is still booked solid for days) for a few things after miraculously being able to secure a delivery date the same day. After discovering three items missing from my order (long after the Instacart driver drove off) I sat on hold with Kroger for 45 minutes for a refund, which I’ll get in 7 – 10 days. Sigh. And, I did learn next time, to turn off Allow Substitutions or you risk ending up with items that are not even close to what you asked for. Oh well. There are MUCH bigger problems out there right now so I’m just glad to have gotten even a few more supplies.
My seeds have sprouted, so I’m excited to get the garden started. I have one last straggler pepper plant (in the back row), but the rest are doing well.
In the meantime, the birds have enjoyed their daily smorgasbord, along with the squirrels. We’ve been watching through the upstairs window and have caught several visitors in the backyard.
Today we have a balmy 61 degrees and the sun is actually out so I think I’ll get out and do some yard cleanup. Windy! OMG. I hope we don’t lose any more branches.
Need a warm up? Come visit our coffee share host, Eclectic Alli, and tell us what’s been going on! Stay healthy, my friends!
Glad you’re faring well. I stocked up early with canned/dry goods and have only had to make 2 quick trips to the store for salad, etc., since our stay-at-home order was put into place two weeks ago. Not planning on going again until mid-week the first full week of April. Luckily, many books on hand. 🙂 I’m gonna stream Star Trek: Picard, too. YAY!

I’m happy you are doing good and are able to work remotly. Those seedlings look great! Thank you for the coffe 🙂
I e tried the pick up service a few time in the before life and was frustrated by the substitutions and missing items. I guess it is a matter of priorities. Stay well and safe. Enjoy the springtime birds.
