Good evening, fellow bloggers. How about an evening cup with me? I missed our morning share but I hope you all had a great week.
It’s been a rollercoaster with my Dad, but the week ended on as much of a positive note as we can pray for at this point. He’s doing okay. We’ve had daily phone calls and also several video calls via Zoom with my siblings and their kids which he really got a kick out of. We made some great memories.
Bill went and got our boat from storage and we spent Saturday and Sunday scrubbing inside and out (there was a hole in the cover and it’s sat for a few years) and with some elbow grease and fresh gas, she fired right up.
We did an inventory of our life vests and floaty toys, and measured for some new carpeting. Looking forward to getting back out on the water this year. Which brings me to my next challenge, Backing Up a Trailer 101. I’m determined to master it this time. Luckily there is a college campus near by and I hope to use their huge parking lot for practice so I don’t entertain everyone at the boat ramp this summer.
I’m still waiting for the tomatoes to sprout, but I need to put my pepper plants in soon! They are getting huge. I have however, managed to grow what I’ve learned to be Japanese Umbrella Mushrooms. I took the first two with my macro lens after noticing an orange like ball in the dirt, similar to the ones in the background.
After some Googling, I learned of the type, also called Pleated Inkcap mushrooms, which live in short grass. Several sets have come and gone this week. In these trays I was hoping to sprout beans from some old seed Bill had, but we haven’t seen anything yet that we don’t feel are just weeds from the soil I used. Or mushrooms.
Work is good, busy as ever and I’m still ever so thankful to be full time remote. Michigan’s governor has extended our shelter in place until May 15th, so it will likely be at least until then.
Well, my friends, any more coffee and I won’t sleep. Thank you for coming by!
Good to hear from you and that you and yours are doing well. I’m jealous that you are getting the boat ready. Our marinas just opened on Sunday yet the weather has been extra nasty so the needed varnishing and bottom painting is yet again postponed. Have a great week.
Hopefully soon! We have decided to keep the boat here in our yard so now we have some fencing redesign to do.
Boats makes me think of summer, that seem very far, away at the moment. I woke up to a lovely 20F today, and it was story and cold all day yesterday. We have all our lessons outdoors with the kids, this weather forces us to be very physically active all day. I hope you are having a great new week. Thank you for the Coffee ☺️
Yes, we are so looking forward to sunny days on the lake.. Wow, do you still do outdoor lessons in the cold?
