coffee in the snow

Is that the SUN out there?? And blue skies? Almost forgot what they look like. Of course it’s a clear sunny day, we’re at home this weekend while everyone heads north with their snowmobiles. Northern Michigan got pummeled, (well, the upper peninsula..) and tons of riders packed it up and jumped on 75 north in search of trails freshly blessed with snow. Oh well. We really need more snow than that to make it optimal. I hope it continues and perhaps we can make plans for next weekend.

How are you?  Come on in and grab a cup. Sorry, you might have to step over some drums. Bill bought a new electronic set last night, the Alesis Nitro Mesh kit, so he pulled his old set out of his studio and they are stacked in our dining room. He set up the new kit and we both played for a bit. It felt easier to play than traditional drums and I look forward to my Friday night drum lessons we’ve been having! It’s nice also to use the headphones when practicing so it’s not so noisy.

I also found the cowbell setting in one of the presets, so we had some fun re-enacting the famous SNL clip with Blue Oyster Cult and Christopher Walken.  Hahaha..

Okay so the top part was written Saturday morning. I join you now on Sunday for part 2 of our Coffee Share as the snow falls from the sky coating everything in a blanket of white goodness.

If this keeps up, we’ll be getting more than just the dusting they forecasted. It’s gone back and forth from a white blanket of snow to dead grass.  Bill ordered me a new top section of my windshield for my sled after he cracked mine on our maiden voyage last month.  He ordered smoke rather than clear but it really was not very dark, so he painted it..  I think it turned out pretty good!

In the background on TV, we’ve got the Trail 7 webcam on, listening for any passing traffic. Several sleds have zoomed by and we also saw the groomer make a pass!  Really not a great base though and there are lots of rocks kicked up through the thin layer of snow. Later I’d like to post some of my GoPro video from our last trip that I haven’t shared yet. I’ve spent the morning restoring a deleted Google account (long story) so that I could do just that (my old Google account is associated with my YouTube channel). I hope to somehow get this resolved – merging an old Google/YouTube account with my current one.  So far no luck. I wish there was a way to contact them directly.  Sigh.

My final (for now) Night Worms shipment also arrived, so we’ll be doing a review soon. I’m still reading The Long Ranger and Tonto Fist Fight in Heaven, by Sherman Alexie, which I actually bought at the Crazy Horse visitor center in South Dakota. It’s a good read, but dark at times. What is on your current TBR list? Here is mine..

Later I’ll likely apply some new nail strips that I was lucky enough to nab from Color Street. The plaid was sold out and recently was restocked, so grabbing a set was a bit like reserving a state park campsite this year, which has been close to impossible. The plaid design is clear, and will go over the red, so it will look like a buffalo plaid of sorts. Hoping it turns out!

The Zoom parties continue! Last night I chatted with four childhood friends across three states (some for the first time in years!) and tonight is our weekly sister/niece Zoom call. It’s been a lot of fun keeping in touch this way.

Well, my friends, the snow has stopped.. It’s time to get up and do a snow dance!  Head on over to Natalie’s and join in the coffee conversation!

Thanks for stopping by!
