Hello and come on in out of the cold rain!  I’d say Good Morning, but it’s just past noon. The Keurig is still on if you’d like something hot to chase off the December chill. Make yourself comfy!

It’s December 1st and we’re in the final stretch of 2019. Like I expected, Thanksgiving flew by just as soon as Halloween was over and before you know it, we’ll be singing Auld Lang Syne. Well, we won’t, personally, Bill and I find the song kind of sad. Today is also Bill’s birthday and I’m patiently waiting for Amazon to drop his last gift and then we’re off on a birthday field trip! Perkins is Bill’s favorite and there are none in Michigan so we are making the trek to Sandusky, Ohio!

How’ve you been the last few weeks? I missed our last Coffee Share as we were deep into finishing our living room floor Saturday and Sunday. It was a project that was on hold for quite some time and I’m SO happy to finally have it done. Now the flooring in the kitchen, dining room and living room is complete.

I love how it turned out. Slight rearranging of the furniture also gave us more floor space.

Yes, our Halloween skeletons decided to hang around for the holidays!

My favorite Christmas decoration went up and it was complete.

Last week was short due to Thanksgiving so we had to cram 5 days of work into three. I still need to log on sometime today to catch up on some weekly reporting before the crunch really starts on Monday. I’m very fortunate to be able to get to Florida to be with my Dad for Christmas, and LOTS of work to get done before I leave. We spent Thanksgiving with my sister’s family and then hosted my in-laws on Friday.

Our brisket turned out amazing!

And for our yearly tradition, burnout pumpkin pie – this year a 1965 Impala.

Yesterday, my day was made when I received my Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certificate from U of M! It was on the day of the Michigan/Ohio State game, also, though we had our posteriors handed to us.

They also threw in a snazzy polo shirt!  Now I have something to wear for Spirit Day at work. We don’t follow sports so I literally have no clothing with any Michigan team logos, except for the Detroit Tigers shirt that I finally folded and bought last year. Spirit Days are typically the Detroit Tigers home opener in April and the Michigan/Michigan State game, whenever that occurs.

Well, I should get a move on and check into work as I still patiently wait for Amazon. I can’t wait to give Bill his last birthday gift!

Thank you so much for stopping by, it’s always great to see you!

Our gracious host, Eclectic Alli, is taking a hiatus, so our dear friend Antoinette is taking the Weekend Coffee Share torch! Visit her blog and join in!

  1. Hi Kathleen,
I love your new flooring. My wife and I are eyeballing doing this too. We have some truly ancient carpet that need to go.
I had to admit, the car atop that pie was funny. I hope it was well received. I hope you two have a wonderful December queued up.

    1. Thank you Gary! The burnout pie is a tradition – last year it was a 1970 Chevelle wagon. 🙂 I still gaze at our new floor from the stairs. This was a project put on hold for too long!

  2. Your floor looks so awesome!! And so does that amazing pumpkin pie, you are an artist. Congratulations again on the green belt, so many good things you have going on in your life. Thank you for the coffee!
