coffee mug

Good morning! Great to see you.. If it’s not too chilly we can top off our mugs and grab a chair on the patio. Yesterday morning was beautiful for outdoor coffee, I hope we can do it again. How’ve you been?

I know the title sounds like a pretty crazy week! But it does hit on the highlights of my week and weekend. Yesterday we celebrated National Siblings Day. I enjoyed seeing all the posts everyone shared on social media, many of their pics from way back. I also traded pics with my family via text, one of my favorites below of my oldest brother, me, my other older brother and sister. Missing from this particular pic are my two other older sisters. This was taken the summer of 1976, my sister’s yellow Maverick parked to the side.

During coffee yesterday, we had quite the show in the backyard. My below Facebook post sums it up. What a hoot!

It was in the high 70s yesterday! We did some yard work in the afternoon before the clouds turned dark and the skies opened up. Before the rain came, the highlight of our afternoon was when our neighbor flew his son’s drone into the branches of one of our huge maple trees. They all came over and he repeatedly tossed a soccer ball up onto the air in attempts to dislodge it. It was directly over our fire pit, so Bill and I moved our chairs and fire pit so he wouldn’t bump into them trying to catch the ball as it came down. Circled below is the drone on one of the soccer ball attempts. Bill got out his drone in efforts to fly it up and knock their drone loose, but the battery wasn’t charged enough.

After several tries, he knocked it loose, cheers erupted, and they were on their way. I was so happy if it got caught, it was somewhere accessible. It was their son’s birthday gift! The wind would have shaken it loose eventually and we’d have returned it, but I was glad they got it down quickly.

I also had a surprise in the mail yesterday, a snowmobiling pajama set I ordered from a Facebook ad at the end of February (yes, I know! You’d have thought I’d have learned my lesson after ordering those “life size” skeletons for Halloween that turned out to be 12″ tall). I was happy for the most part except for the print is off center on the shirt. 🙁 I emailed a pic to their support address, so we’ll see what happens. I’ve got all summer to wait for a replacement!

And that brings us to tacos! I ordered and received a set of Taco Trucks – plastic taco holders and was not disappointed. They helped immensely with the building of said tacos and avoiding spillage by holding them upright. I saw them and had to have them, but they are functional!

Too funny!

For the not so fun updates, we still have ceiling work to do, before painting begins, which I am not looking forward to. I don’t mind painting, but there is a lot to be done (the entire upstairs) and lots of furniture to move. It will be a struggle to stay motivated, but hopefully seeing the finished product emerge will keep me going.

So how was your week?  Need a warm up? Thanks for stopping by for this week’s coffee share, I’ll get a refill and will be around shortly.  If you’re new to the coffee share, join us over at Natalie’s!  We’d love to hear from you.

  1. Love the FB post and wow on those pajamas! Glad you contacted them hope you get a reply and a new pair! Have a Great Week!

  2. That story at the beginning is hilarious. Love when wildlife is naughty and we get a front row seat. My son in law got a drone a few years ago and got it stuck in our tree…it was hilarious trying to get it out.
