Today I realized I have both Evernote and Penzu to house my writing projects and decided to pick one or the other, to keep things simple. Plus I noticed I also had upgraded to the Pro+ version of Penzu for whatever reason so that either needs to be justified or cancelled. I also had some ideas mulling around in my head, so I set my timer and hammered out a few paragraphs, as part of my daily writing exercise goal.
.
It got me wondering how others write, and what their process is. Blogger, author friends, how do you write?
.
Cloud based tools such as Monkee, Evernote or Penzu? Other online tools?
.
Good old Microsoft Word?
.
Pen and notebook?
.
Bloggers, do you create directly within your blog platform, such as WordPress or Blogger, or do you copy and paste the final product before publishing?
.
Do you have a set time to write or do you sit down at your keyboard whenever inspiration hits? How do you work it into your schedule?
.
Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments if you care to share!
I use the WordPress editor to write posts. For my story, I’m using Novel Factory, but I’ll probably go back to Writer for my next IP. Novel Factory is pretty cool, but it’s $8 a month and I just don’t write often enough to justify the cost any more.

Thanks for sharing! I hadn’t heard of Novel Factory.
For my blog, I usually like to just use the blog editor to create. I’ve been trying to get back to writing stories and I’ve found it helpful to craft those with pen and paper.
I still like to hand write when the mood strikes! 🙂
I found Obsidian in the last six months, lots of videos on YouTube about it. Install on my iPad with the vault stored in iCloud. Do my first kind of draft notes/writing first thing with an add in called daillies. Because I have iCloud/iDrive installed on my PC, I review edit and link later in the day. Almost seamless between devices. I love the graph it creates of all the links. Tried to create a notion habit, not going well. Also got Word in back ground.

Ooh, I will have to check this out! Thank you!
I love Penzu and have been using it for years as a journal! When I write for WP I tend to write directly into the app, or if it’s something I needed to write in Word first or copy from Notepad, I do that, too.
